You Need a Sleep Doula!

What is a Sleep Doula?:  

A Sleep Doula is person experienced and knowledgeable with infants, new parents and their sleep issues. She provides emotional, educational and practical support for the baby and family.

A Sleep Doula provides the baby's parents with information and options enabling the them to make their own decision about how to get their baby or babies to sleep through the night. Our Doulas provide consultation and support helping you get your baby sleeping through the night.

We can even do the sleep training for you or with you if you wish. 

When should I start thinking about sleep training? The ideal age for sleep training is from 4 – 8 months and up to 18 months. However it is never too late for you child to develop good sleep habits

A parent would do well to start thinking about developing good sleep habits around 6 weeks of age with some solid routines established by 4 months. There are some simple steps that can be taken early on that can ease you child’s journey to become an independent sleeper.

We are
currently offering consultations,  sleep training, and night support throughout most of Southern Ontario. Consultations are also available over the telephone.

What sleep training techniques does a Sleep Doula use?

A Sleep Doula will work will evaluate your family situation and work with you to develop an individual sleep plan that works for both you and your child or children.

While we do not promote one sleep teaching plan over another, we draw upon the the resources, information and research of experts in the field of infant and child sleep.

Sleep Consultations & Sleep Training 0-4 month olds – We do not offer sleep training at this age, however we do offer services below for parents with infant to 4 months old.

Sleep Consultation – 4 – 12 month olds Our Sleep Consultant will meet with you, evaluate your babies schedule and sleep habits, discuss realistic expectations, bedtime routine and help you come up with a plan to get your baby to sleep through the night. We do not advocate one method over another. *

** The Baby Source recommends that you consult with your child’s physician before starting any sleep training program *Consultations are tailored to families individual needs and include 2 weeks of phone, e-mail and/or text support.
